Problem : The macerator on a toilet will not work
Solution :
  • Please ensure that the mains power has been connected and made operational.
  • Please check that all relevant circuits are switched to on within the mains consumer unit.
  • Please check the fuse in the fused spur supplying the macerator.
  • The macerator is designed to discharge faeces, toilet paper and hot water (upto 100C) only.
  • A blockage can be caused when foreign objects are flushed down the toilet with the most common being paper towels.
  • In general such blockages can easily be removed after which the toilet and macerator will work as normal.
  • Switch off the fused spur supplying the macerator, unscrew the knob on the side of the macerator and remove the extractable unit in order to gain access to the blocked filters.
  • When the blockage has been removed, the unit can be re-assembled by replacing the extractable unit and screwing back the knob.
  • When the fused spur is switched on again the unit should work as normal.

Problem : The pressure release valve on the Under Sink Water Heater is leaking
Solution :
  • The water pressure may be too high meaning that the release valve is opening to reduce pressure and avoid damage to the system.
  • Our products are designed to work with a mains water supply with a minimum pressure of 1.5 bar and a maximum pressure of 4 bar.
  • The product may not operate correctly if supplied at a pressure outside of this range.
  • The problem can be resolved by fitting a pressure reducing valve to the entire system.

Problem : The wash hand basin push tap is continuously dripping/running.
Solution :
  • A foreign body such as dirt or grit from a contaminated water supply may be creating a blockage in the push tap and thus preventing it from closing.
  • The push tap can be cleaned or if necessary replaced although the blockage is likely to re-occur if foreign bodies are still present in the water supply.

Problem : The urinal cistern is not flushing
Solution :
  • Please ensure that the mains water supply is connected and switched on.
  • Please ensure that the stop tap on the main water inlet to the unit or modular section is open.
  • The urinal cistern is an auto-flushing model fitted with a petcock valve, a black plastic fitting above the cistern. This valve is set to a drip flow rate at the time of manufacture.
  • If the cistern does not flush, the petcock valve may require adjustment. This can be easily done with a screwdriver to increase or reduce the water flow.

Problem : The toilet cistern is continually flushing
Solution :
  • The water pressure may be too high meaning that the cistern fills before the flush cycle is completed. Our products are designed to work with a mains water supply with a minimum pressure of 1.5 bar and a maximum pressure of 4 bar.
  • The product may not operate correctly if supplied at a pressure outside of this range.
  • The service valve on the water inlet pipe below the cistern can be adjusted to slow the water flow rate or a pressure reducing valve can be fitted to the entire system.
  • A foreign body such as dirt or grit from a contaminated water supply may be partially blocking the cistern and preventing the siphon from closing. The cistern parts can be cleaned or if necessary replaced.
  • The water supply pipe should be thoroughly flushed with clean water prior to connection to the product in order to avoid the possibility of dirt or grit entering the product and impacting on the performance of the system.

Problem : The water pressure is too high.
Solution :
  • Our products are designed to work with a mains water supply with a minimum pressure of 1.5 bar and a maximum pressure of 4 bar.
  • The product may not operate correctly if supplied at a pressure outside of this range.

Problem : The water pressure is too low.
Solution :
  • Our products are designed to work with a mains water supply with a minimum pressure of 1.5 bar and a maximum pressure of 4 bar.
  • The product may not operate correctly if supplied at a pressure outside of this range.

Problem : The plumbing installation is not working.
Solution :
  • Please ensure that the mains water supply is connected and switched on.
  • Please ensure that the stop tap on the main water inlet to the product is open.
  • The water supply pipe should be thoroughly flushed with clean water prior to connection to the product in order to avoid the possibility of dirt or grit entering the product and impacting on the performance of the system.
  • Our products are designed to work with a mains water supply with a minimum pressure of 1.5 bar and a maximum pressure of 4 bar.
  • The product may not operate correctly if supplied at a pressure outside of this range.

Problem : The water from the Santon Over Sink Water Heater is not hot.
Solution :
  • Please ensure that the mains power has been connected and made operational.
  • Please check that all relevant circuits are switched to on within the mains consumer unit.
  • Please check the fuse in the fused spur supplying the water heater.
  • If the unit still does not respond then it may be that the thermal safety cut out may have operated as a safety measure.
  • The cut-off is designed to prevent the heater from overheating and suffering damage when there is little or no water in the heater.
  • Current models have a resettable thermal switch which can be reset by switching off the fused spur, removing the access panel at the bottom of the unit and depressing the small red button on the blue panel.
  • Older models will require a replacement thermal fuse to be fitted.
