Parts Check List

  1. Close coupled linkway, item 1 (x1)
  2. 870mm x 180mm x 9mm plywood floor panel, item 2 (x1)
  3. 870mm x 180mm vinyl floor covering, item 3 (x1)
  4. 75mm x 810mm metal cover strip, item 4 (x2)
  5. 12.5mm Round Headed Wood Screws (x8)
  6. Touch-Up Paint

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Linkway (Item 1) for installation and unpack the installation kit. Ensure that the units to be linked are properly leveled prior to the installation of the linkway.
  2. Move the first and second units to be linked into position (see Figures 2 and 3), ensuring that the 51mm x 25mm R.S.C. framework on each unit lines up as shown. The gap between the external walls of the units will be approximately 100mm.
  3. Lift the Linkway (Item 1) into position above the units to be linked, by means of the lifting point fitted to the linkway, using a suitable crane or HIAB. If a ladder is used to reach the roof of each unit, it must be footed, or otherwise secured to avoid slippage, at all times.
  4. Lower the linkway into position over the linking framework using a suitable crane or HIAB (see Figures 4 and 5).
  5. Cut to size as required and position the plywood floor panel (Item 2) and vinyl floor covering (Item 3) over the void in the linkway floor.
  6. Position the metal cover strips (Item 4) over both the door thresholds between the units and the linkway. Drill the strip as required in preparation for fixing, and secure using the designated wood screw fixings into the plywood/vinyl floor panel (see Figure 6).
  7. Any areas of the external finish that are damaged during the installation of the linkway, particularly if the damage leaves the steel exposed, should be re-finished with the supplied touch-up paint.
